Eliminating inequities in pain, substance misuse and mental health
At the Comprehensive Center for Pain & Addiction, we advance health equity through:

Recruitment and Retention Practices: Our recruitment and retention initiatives center on those most impacted by pain, substance misuse and mental health and from Latiné, Indigenous, LGBTQ+, underresourced and rural communities.

Intersectional Approaches: We use an intersectional approach, which allows us to nuance our work and intervention strategies to address the inequities that impact those who are multiply marginalized.

Survey and Assessment Tools: Internal and external surveys, focus groups and other qualitative and quantitative data and assessment guide our work in becoming a truly inclusive, diverse, equitable and accessible center.

Engagement and Education Initiatives: Engaging and educating our community partners, collaborators, policy makers and employees in the work of inclusivity, diversity, equity and access helps us further our goals to advance health equity state-wide and nationally.
The University of Arizona Health Sciences Comprehensive Center for Pain & Addiction is committed to creating and maintaining an environment free of discrimination. In support of this commitment, the Center prohibits discrimination, including harassment and retaliation, based on a protected classification, including race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or genetic information.
