Stephen Dahmer, M.D., is the director of the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. In this role, he leads the center's efforts to train healthcare practitioners in evidence-based, integrative care. As both a director and a practicing physician, Dahmer focuses on patient-centered care through clinical practice, teaching, and research.

Dahmer has practiced medicine worldwide. His clinical background includes working in the favelas of Brazil, collaborating with Maori iwi communities in New Zealand, and serving as a hospitalist in the Navajo Nation in Arizona.

Dahmer earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed a fellowship in integrative family medicine at the center. He has held academic and clinical positions at several institutions, including the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Before joining the university, Dahmer served as the lead physician at Iora Health, chief medical officer at Goodness Growth, and a founding primary care physician at Sana Care. His research examines the real-world effectiveness of integrative therapies and the medical uses of plants.
